Ho Ho Ho

We've arrived at the end of rehearsals for 2005. Roll on Christmas, New Year and good old honest January. With a good bash at the first half of the play, and the tricky bits of the second, we're ready to relax and put our feet up over the coming break. Well done everyone, I can't gush enough abotu how brilliant it's been to have so much effort and commitment from you all. Now off you go, learn those lines!

A batch of this year's santas have gone missing, police are asking if anyone noticed any unusual presence in the area (you do better then)

Abe!! (or for the uninitiated, the lovely and indispensible producer, Ms Hills.)

We Five Kings (Staffi, Joe, Robin, Tim and tucked away at the back, Dom)

Oooh, the Aryan maiden, viz ze svastika cake, und der kollie, schnphew the Aryan maiden (Mr Hynkel has just referred to the wonderful Charlotte and her lovely cakes - that's a Chaplin reference if you're wondering).

Can you tell what time of year it is yet? (The resistibles.)

Note the expressions of amazement. (Nicola, Pat, Chris, Nicky and John.)

Dubba dubba dubba dub dum (Nicola freaks out).

Note to self: don't leave Dom alone with a camera... you should see the other ones.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE.

Let 'em Have It

Sadly, no photos from last night. I was too excited to remember my camera. We did three of the most powerful scenes and I was alternately weeping, chilled to the bone and pumped full of adrenalin and strange masculine longing (only joking, I'd never weep in public).

A big well done to Pat, Paul and John who've obviously done a lot of work behind the scenes or at least they look that good on stage. And of course another biggie to MikeG and the boys for winding up the tension in Scene 11 and sending me off with a spring in my step.

Just one more rehearsal before Christmas; before we know it, we'll have a fully fledged dramatic masterpiece on our hands.

The Trial of the Resistibles

The spirit of Kafka was certainly among us last night: byzantine processes few of us understood, frustration, complexity, bizarriness. With a couple of expected absences worsened by an attack of the lurgy, the worky and the didn't-show-uppy, we were seriously depleted in number. Count yourself lucky.

Unlike Kafka, though, we came out smelling of roses and still alive. The scene pulled itself together and even resembled a good bit of drama by the end. It was just a shame I forgot my camera, so I can't treat you all to some fine Dockdaisy dancing. Mighty fine.

And so we come to another French holiday; not a jolly to Paris this time, but a lay up from rehearsals as the 'Allo 'Allo bunch do their stuff. I'd plug it, but they sold out long ago. So, good luck to MikeL and JohnR this week, we'll be in the crowd for the Saturday matinee.

To everyone else it's au revoir; on 11th December to be precise. See you there.
